I spontaneously quit my minimum wage job after 2 weeks because self employment became more lucrative. My boss was still pissed.

I just quit my job at a grocery store part time with no benefits making minimum wage after only 2 weeks of working there. At the time I was trying to make money doing freelance web development and a bit of marketing, so I took a shitty job while I was trying work out how to get clients. I started seeing a lot more success the last couple days, so I called out 3 hours early one day when I decided helping a client would be more profitable, and then decided to quit the following day without a 2 weeks notice because I had two more clients to deal with and the job was starting to become a liability more than anything. My boss was still pretty angry that I quit after such a short time period, and also that I walked out the previous night without “giving a reason”.…

I don't really know what gives managers this level of entitlement where they feel like they own my time with zero incentive provided. I figured it'd be kind of a given that no reason or permission is needed to leave early when the monetary value of doing almost literally anything else with my life is worth more than the entire job you've given me.
