Antiwork

In the beginning of my career, I was fired from my first real job after 2 years. I still feel strange about it.

I was fired for not hitting quota but this guy gave me a chance to work for a Fortune 500 company and put my career in the direction it is today. Feels weird because as much as I hate him for firing me due to corporate BS (I could go on but will save for another post). He still gave a kid fresh out of college a chance and I wouldn’t be nearly as employable without him. There is still corporate politics/ BS where I work now I have just learned to navigate it a bit better. He probably gave me a chance because he thought I was going make him a million dollars like his last young hire. Every managers dream is to hire someone hungry and get a huge returns from them.
