Things are blowing up at work & I love it

A couple of months ago the Store Manager was asked to cover for the Area Manager. She brought in a new Assistant Store Manager to cover for her instead of getting an existing ASM to cover. A couple of weeks ago he escalated a situation with a drunk customer and punched him. Twice. Knocking him out for a several minutes. This manager was meant to be upskilling someone to manage the shop floor (managing the customer queue, how to use the app to do it etc). The upskilling consisted of telling her the, in his opinion, faults that each staff member has. He is still working and has seen no immediate consequences (suspension, forced leave, etc) Another new ASM that came in a month ago made a super racist comment last week about one of the staff, who's from India, to her face.

He is still working and has seen no immediate consequences (suspension, forced leave, etc)

Another new ASM that came in a month ago made a super racist comment last week about one of the staff, who's from India, to her face.

At least half a dozen people have also quit.

Last week and there were 2 high level people from HR in. They were there to talk to those rostered on when the assault above happened. They immediately expanded it to ask about everything going on because it all started coming out.

One person went in for a chat with them, that first ASM burst in and said “oh, I'm ummm looking for…Ken”. It was a tiny meeting room with a huge window. There was no way he thought Ken was in there.

Apparently the whole management team were kept in the dark so they were wandering around trying to listen into the conversations staff were having with each other about the situation, or watching cameras then coming out to stand nearby to discourage said conversations.

They've been walking around this week asking if everyone had done the quarterly employee survey. I'm 99.999995% sure it's so they can try to influence people or work out who has already submitted because apparently there's another investigation based on something someone submitted in that survey.

I'm leaving in 3 weeks but haven't given my (contractually obligated) 2 weeks, yet. This is so good I'm sad to leave it and not see it first hand anymore!
