On Wednesday I was let go from my internship program at the Médical Examiners Office by the Forensic Pathologist due “for not participating and only participating in something if I was interested in it”. It occurred when I got sent downstairs to be on autopsy for two weeks. I had had no prior problem when I was in investigations (my position was Medicolegal Death Investigator Intern) and the lead investigator was proud of my work and accomplishments. All the other investigators I worked with were stunned and shocked. I was escorted out of the building and left outside the building without transportation, luckily I had a friend that was able to come pick me up and take me back to my Airbnb.
It was completely unexpected and heartbreaking I was really looking forward to returning to investigations. I don’t really understand what happened.
However, I am glad I got the experience I needed and don’t hold any bad feeling, just disappointed.
