I've been going through the motions with this company for three months. Every time we get within a week of a project starting, the line of business gets canceled and the delayed equipment would magically teleport between states. It smelled awfully fishy, but I gave them one last chance, only for them to once again be unprofessional and disrespectful.
I name shame. The company is Broad Path. Keep a wide berth from them. Their whole business model stinks of micromanagement, considering you're on camera the entire time you're working (it's WFH) so that management can make sure you're not getting distracted (even after training). They also said they will have someone call to do an office check on camera to check the tidiness of your work area, make sure there's nothing distracting in the room (like a TV or secondary PC), and to ensure the door closes to keep all sounds at bay.
So I sent them an email reading:
Good morning!
I was scheduled for an 11:00 am interview with M today. It's now 11:15. I understand that if I were to be fifteen minutes late to my first interview with the company, or this late to any shift, it would result in not being considered for the position or disciplinary action once hired. Additionally, there have been some issues with the hiring process up until this point with other lines of business through Broad Path, including repeated canceled projects and delayed shipment of equipment – the latter being delayed four times in a week, only to magically get from Mississippi to Arizona in two hours after being informed that the second project I was lined up for had once again fallen through.
I want to thank you for your consideration for all three positions I've been in line for. However, I feel it's necessary to rescind my application in interest of my own time for the sake of professionalism, respect of time, and honesty that isn't in line with my own expectations.
Warmest Regards.
P.S. At the end of this email, it's now 11:25 and no call. Hopefully this matter can be resolved moving forward with other applicants.
I guess I just needed to vent this, warn others, and remind folks that if the management team can't be respectful of your time, don't work for them. If they're this unorganized in the hiring process, how horrible would it be on the job?
