Why do managers just make assumptions about you as an employee and do employers like employees that can lead themselves?

I started a new job I enjoy it, everyone likes me but there is a common thing that seems to happen it's never a thing that would be enough to be fired for but it just annoys me because it is based cleanly on an assumption and base that I think people in power have and that is “this person doesn't ask 100s questions about their task therefor they must not care.” I grow up in an environment that preached self-reliance and figuring it out yourself before you ask for help and I realize that doesn't work in the working world unless you are in control. I feel like people in charge just want to hear themself talk and hate the idea of an employee that can work and think for himself and also do amazing work without being told to. If anyone else has this problem please let me…
