Last Saturday my husband tested positive for Covid, at that point I had been sleeping next to him in the same room (we have roommates) and didn’t know at the time that he had it. I’ve been feeling like crap for going on a week now. Tuesday I finally had enough energy to go to the Urgent care and tested negative for Flu-A, Flu-B, & Covid. My symptoms included (the morning of and before I went to urgent care) mucus in my throat followed by what felt like someone pouring chalk dust down my throat.
I went ahead and let work know I wasn’t going to be able to come in due to exposure on Sunday (two days prior). Within hours after going to urgent care, my symptoms became progressively worse. My head started feeling like I had a headache on the left side of my skull followed by what felt like a radiating heatwave migrating inwards. It literally felt like my brain was frying, followed by what felt like something was stinging or prickling the inside of my skull.
I got the work note and I was excused until this coming Monday. Yesterday I ended up back in Urgent care after getting violently sick at home only for my test results to come back positive.
Here’s where it gets hairy.
Upper management starting raging on me about missing so much work and demanded that I come back and sit at my desk and just wear a mask. Then demanded twice that I show a positive test result and the work note, which I have through text so at least it’s documented. I was instructed that if I take an at home test and it continues to come back positive, then I’m to be out until next Thursday. To be honest I’ve ran a fever so many times and at this point, I feel like a squeezed lemon. Earlier this year one of my coworkers had Covid and they demanded that she return to work, wear a mask, and only leave her office to go to the bathroom. (I’ll be honest, she never wears a mask and didn’t hardly during this time and as a result, three other people were out with it too). I cannot really say where I work. I’ll probably be turning in my resignation by the end of next week anyways.
Now that I’ve explained everything, what are your thoughts?
