Robots taking our,, toil?

Let's face it, we are all going to be replaced once general purpose robots become cheaply available. In a sane world this would mean that all of mankind's basic needs are freely available, but in reality it will make another quantum leap between the rich and the poor with the few at the top mindlessly clawing everything to themselves until it all collapses. So I've been kicking around the idea of a grassroots movement to try to undercut this inevitable f#ckery. What if we, collectively started working on automated farming, designing back yard or larger scale farming systems which are mostly automated, supplying those involved with free food and selling the excess at absolute production costs, or just enough above to allow expansion. Keeping the farms small scale and local to cut down on transport etc and creating a robust safety net against the inevitable shitstorm.
