I've been working at this place for 7 months, it's my second job ever and things have been pretty much smooth sailing. It's a university job and it has a starbucks that I transferred to from the dining hall area when summer started. I work 4 days a week sundays through wednesdays 9-5. Apperantly I wasn't scheduled for this week or next week and nobody told me. I came in and clocked in as usual and was cut an hour into working because there was too many people. My supervisor said I wasn't scheduled so I asked my manager and she said “you weren't scheduled this week” and I told her that I didn't know, nobody told me and for the past 2 months I've been working the same schedule. She said “well the schedule is put up, and we don't need any extra people here or in the dining area”. I'm putting in my two weeks tonight. I don't care if it makes me seem petty or upset, a manager should never treat an employee like an extra. I'm not an “extra person” and I've noticed she's been treating other employees the same way. I'm just gonna quit and definitely do not plan on coming back next summer. It just implies that I'm not a real employee and just an extra for whenever they need someone. I'm grateful this isn't a job I depend on because I live with my parents still but if I really needed the money I'd be screwed right now.
