Been looking for a new job the last few weeks due to personal reasons and am just baffled by how shitty the job market is and continues to be. One company turned me down because during the interview I said I only have 3 years experience in the field and the guy interviewing me cut me off to say “sorry you need at least 10 years in this field” for 40 thousand dollars a fucking year. I laughed and walked out. Had another interview this morning via zoom with a recruiter who reached out to me. He starts off the interview that “you will work hard every single day, but it’s worth it.” He then goes on to tell me the starting salary is 45k a year (which is insanely low for my field of work) and finishes it off with telling me they get 3 days of PTO for the first 5 years, and then it goes up to 10 and that’s where it tops out. I just turned my camera off. Fuck this.
