Was let go from a Concrete mixing labor job, because I was the newest and youngest employee.

I figure this is the place to talk about it, I've been scrambling and figuring out what my next move is… I take care of my mother and 2 little sisters. I was let go from a job out in GA where we mix concrete and add pigment to job specifications. We are experiencing a shortage of concrete, my boss said he never expected it. This happened early last month. He came to me and two others and had to let us go because he couldn't pay the hours anymore. I was let go from a job out in GA where we mix concrete and add pigment to job specifications. We are experiencing a shortage of concrete, my boss said he never expected it. This happened early last month. He came to me and two others and had to let us go because he couldn't pay the hours anymore. We were the newest employees, I had been there since January 15th when I moved out to GA to take care of my mom and sisters after mom got sick. We ran entirely on my income.

I was paid 15/hr plus OT at least once a month. When he let me go I had a little in savings. Very little. But that plus my last paycheck was almost enough to to cover August rent. I'm still short close to 400$. I payed a little of rent but I also had to buy groceries and I ended up stealing milk and bread from a local dollar general. I needed to get something. I didn't know what else to do. Never had to do that before. I feel awful. And I'm only mentioning it because I saw a post a little bit ago and I got the courage to talk about this. That mom did what she had to. I'm honestly proud of her. I understand the predicament and I support her in that as well. Anyway.

I just. Don't know what else to do. I am applying for other jobs out in Marrietta and Kennesaw and hoping something gives because I don't know what else to do. I usually work retail, but I got out here and started this labor job and learned that I really love this kind of work. I got a forklift permit and I thoroughly love my work. I will take any jobs now though. This struggle is crazy. I just want to be safe and take care of my family and myself til mom is able to do more herself.

Thanks for reading. Just. I don't even know.
