any advice on asking for a raise(ideally not letting my emotions take over)?

Long story short, I work for a cheap ass boss who bought the restaurant I work at. I'm one of his best workers, and he's gone out of his way to tell me that customers told him how great I am. He owes me a small amount of overtime. He's also been a shitty person and fired my old manager after my old manager out in his 2 weeks notice(California USA). I make $15 an hour to be a grill cook, but there's been moments I've run things on my own/had to help others with sides/running orders during the dinner rush(taking time away from orders). I really want $17 and a cash bonus. Tbh I don't want a lot, I just need something that will keep up with inflation, and a little extra for the price of the loyalty(has to deal with old owner drama, will tell stories if requested). I know in California our minimum wage is going up in January to $15.50

Thanks for listening y'all!
