So, without going into too much detail … just to give y'all a heads up.
I received a message from a recruiter asking if I would be interested in a job working for Apple — and it was great money. I said yes, and he asked me to send my latest resume.
I looked up the recruiter and his company, both are verified, legitimate organizations. I sent my resume.
He then sent me a message with the detailed job listing, except the company wasn't Apple, it was another company that owned a subsidiary called something like Apple Marketing.
Had I known the actual job listing, I would have turned it down as it is not something I want to do. It was like being asked if you would be interested in doing work-from-home IT support for Apple partners, versus doing desktop troubleshooting for Apple Marketing clients which requires three weeks of travel a month in the southeast US — and then you realize how low the offer really is.
I reported him to the platform where he contacted me and they are addressing it. But I thought in this “competitive” job market, you might want to be aware of this.
