I work in tourism. I've been working in tourism for the last decade.
I've given my last 4 winters to one company.. Covid and all. I shined my first year and was promoted to manager my next. I upgraded their entire system, worked over time for free, and spent the last two winters as a customer punching bag.
Today I was told my position was being dissolved and they wouldn't be able to bring me back. I'm seasonal, so I have no protections. I was also about to qualify for extra benefits. Convenient.
Loyalty means nothing.
