Some of my workmates sound completely delusional. They try to be these super efficient hard working people who do everything for the company, stand for their employer in discussions and all. Like, what? Sounds like they enjoy being exploited. I don't know if they are brainwashed, naive, masochists or a mix of all three. Maybe just pretending in order do get some promotion.
It's like those people who think that they are going to be rich someday if they work hard enough. No illusion is more toxic than that. Capitalism is a game made by the 1% for themselves and you are supposed to always lose.
Most of these people are also snitches who will not hesitate to tell boss of your “misbehaving” like it's their problem. I just don't see what the point is. It's not us against each other. It's supposed to be us against them!
