Management scheduled me for 9 days straight for “the company needs”

I work for a large grocery chain. You can probably guess what company it is. It starts with a K. My department is only 4 people, the department assistant manager, me and two other clerks. The department AM is on vacation next week and one of the other clerks is on leave next week also for his grandmother's funeral services. My days off are usually Sunday & Mondays as promised by the store manager. Well, the store manager is on vacation and didn't write the schedule for next week, instead one of the assistant store managers made the schedule for next week, and instead schedule me to work till Thursday next week then work Friday then have Saturday. When I confronted the ASM and said I cannot work 9 days straight, he said the schedule was made for “the store needs”. They expect me to work like a robot because…

They expect me to work like a robot because we're going to be short staffed all week. I have left a message with the union, but its close to the end of the week, i doubt they could do anything. If I didn't need this job for the health insurance and other places payed the same, I'd have quit this company months ago.
