My recent experience with Home Depot

So I worked at home depot (past tense). Only part-time after my full-time job. Basically fun money or to help put extra money towards bills. I got along with everyone there and they got along with me. Sense I was part-time if they needed someone to cover a shift in the afternoon I would sometimes if I didn't have anything going on. Also they were flexible with me, so anytime I knew my schedules conflicted I would notify the HR lady and she would take me off for that day, and that way I didn't have to call off(built up my sick time that way).

I found another part-time job (better pay, my own hours). So I used up my sick time and put in my two-week notice. Now a little about me I am constantly a smart ass. So in my resignation letter I made jokes. Now all the associates thought it was funny, the department heads thought it was funny, I even heard some of the assistant store managers thought it was funny, everyone but the store manager. I guess my line about having “anal glaucoma and couldn't see my ass coming into work anymore” was taken as disrespect and he crumbled it up and terminated me. At least that is what I was told, he wasn't in the day I resigned and I'm catching word through the grapevines about it. All I got was an email about how to access my information, like my 401k and paystubs. Honestly, that was pretty tame compared to other things I've done there.

So that's my story thanks for sticking around and listening. I guess the ol' you can't quite cause you're fired. As for some of the other parts of the letter were, “I have something wrong with my eyes I can't see myself working anymore” and “I'm giving my two day notice I'm not coming in today”, and I ended it with “eternally yours”. The store manager has seen me goof of a lot and has always laughed at it but I guess he doesn't think I'm that funny.
