My coworkers are lazy, and I feel bad for other employees. Should I help?

I’m 4 months into my new job and I work in HR. My coworkers, including my managers are lazy. I feel bad for the employees coming to the office having inquiries about their salary or vacations etc. Its not my job but the people responsible tells them to wait for one to two hours just to answer very simple inquiries, while the whole department goes to eat breakfast, have “meetings”, play video games (my boss has a PS5 in his office), have three hour lunches, etc. I feel bad for the employees here having HR department treat them this bad. I don’t deal with the employees at all. I still need to stick to this job for just 6 more months due to some personal stuff so quitting is not an option. Since I came here, 4 new people already quit. I shouldn’t help because its not my job and I just want to ignore the people waiting outside but I can’t stand the inefficiency. Counting down to 6 months when I leave this shitty place.

Company size: 1500 employees. HR: 18
