Do schools ever pay more than minimum wage for student jobs?

There are lots of job opportunities on my school's campus for students to work (employed by the school), but we're only payed minimum wage ($7.50/hour). Would it be ridiculous to try to get my school to raise student wages? The school is very stubborn and bureaucratic so I doubt any changes would be made, but would it really be unreasonable to campaign for higher student worker wages?
