This is an older story of mine, from around 2018.
I used to work at an A&W as a cashier. I was one of two people they had at the time that was even remotely trained to do so. Everyone else was kitchen staff, and other than the one (of three managers) none of the managers knew how to even work the fucking system. The one (good) manager they had there did most of my training, and it was nice. He was respectful, patient, kind, a good manager. I worked mostly with him for my first week there.
My second week though, I met the worst of the three. Dude was fucking rude, and pushy, if something didn't get done in what he considered a timely manner we were yelled at, sometimes even in front of customers. I fucking hated this dude. He'd insult the workers intelligence, swear at us, call us useless if something didn't get done within 3 minutes if him asking even if we were swamped by customers.
Around the start of my third week, I got really sick the day before my shift, so obviously as I was working around food I wasn't going to go in. I call in, shitty manager picks up. I tell him “hey, sorry, I can't come in tomorrow, I'm really sick” reasonable, right? He responds by telling me to go fuck myself and that I'm a horrible greedy worker that's going to ruin the day, because he refused to hire any more cashier staff. So obviously I tell him on the spot that I'm not going back as he continuously harassed me and everyone else at the job.
The next day as my shift is supposed to start he calls me up, asking “where the fuck are you piece of shit?” So I tell him, “I fucking called you last night telling you where I am you stupid fuck. I also quit last night, because I will not take your shit, you sad little man. Good luck finding anyone that'll work with you.” And I haven't been back to that location since.
That was the last time I've ever had a bad experience with managers, save for a liquor store job that fired me for smoking weed in my free time.
