What to say to boss that still wants me to come in sick?

I have a fever, cough, runny nose and a headache. I’m standing and lifting heavy boxes at work all day, I knew I couldn’t make it. They’re short staffed so I feel like I have a double work load. I’m already debating looking for a new job and putting in my notice after being at this one about 7 months I emailed the main boss that I can’t come in today because I’m sick (he prefers communication through email) – went back to bed for a little while, then woke up to 3 missed calls from my direct supervisor and a voicemail saying she understands I’m not feeling well but she needs me to come in. They’re from about 3 hours ago and I haven’t responded. I just got a text from her saying to call her when I can. I know this probably sounds bad, but I don’t want…

I emailed the main boss that I can’t come in today because I’m sick (he prefers communication through email) – went back to bed for a little while, then woke up to 3 missed calls from my direct supervisor and a voicemail saying she understands I’m not feeling well but she needs me to come in. They’re from about 3 hours ago and I haven’t responded.

I just got a text from her saying to call her when I can. I know this probably sounds bad, but I don’t want to call back because she is just going to guilt me into coming in for the rest of the day. Would it be so bad to just send her a text closer to when the workday is over saying “sorry I didn’t get your messages until now, I have a fever and wasn’t able to make it in today”. I know if I call she will probably just scold me over the phone about why I didn’t answer earlier when she needed me to come in

Honestly before I got the calls, I was going to tell them I’m not sure if I can come in tomorrow either but now I’m scared they’ll fire me and I don’t have another job lined up. I have called out a couple times before but only because I genuinely wasn’t feeling well. I’m a hard worker when I’m there and my bosses tell me I do a good job. I’m okay with even having to stay late for the rest of the week or something if needed, I just can’t do it today
