Having to work on weekends

Weekend shifts are always a drag. Most places that open on weekends are more likely to have more workers as part time. 17% of part time workers are 20-25 year olds, closely followed by 15-19 year olds and 15% for older folk 55-64 year olds. Nobody really want to work on the weekend. Making it harder for employers to find new employees. Then proceeded to say “kids these days don't want to work”. No, they don't want to work under YOUR conditions for $11.50 when McDonald's hires 15 year olds and pay them $15. The best possible solution for part time is 1. Raise pay 2. Alternating schedules and have groups.

Example:

Week 1 Group A: Works Monday Friday Saturday and Sunday

Week 1 Group B: Works Tuesday Wednesday Thursday

Week 2 Group A: Works Tuesday Wednesday Thursday

Week 2 Group B: Works Monday Friday Saturday Sunday

Then continue switching. I think this works great. People know exactly when they work. Employers have an easy schedule. Instead of burning out their employees buy making them have work 6,7 or more days in a row. I really believe that part time employees get the short end of the stick. They just get the pay and no benefits like full time. If employers wanted to get people and keep them for more than a few months, I really believe that an alternating schedule would be best.
