My reasoning stems from radical Christian church elements coercing citizenry to vote republican and the anti women anti books anti equal rights agenda. “Jesus can’t come back because there’s none of his children to come back for” lyric rings in my mind.
Contrasting religion to wealth hoarding is much of the rest of the lyrics. Not improving the world with the vast fortunes of a few; meanwhile a pill dulled populace only pulls their head out of their ass to check their influencers feeds and try to monetize themselves into relevance.
We have been sold a faulty bill of goods. Working for corporations only will serve themselves. I did it for 20 years. Covid shut down showed me the tragic waste my professional life had been. I made millions for people that shit me out like a bad dose of vindaloo without even a thanks for working in the pandemic before vaccines when everything was shut down. I realize now how futile it all is. Unless you are incredibly lucky to be born into a small percentage of the population that has limited $ worries then you are never far away from the debt reaper that always collects. Even if it’s your pound of flesh.

PS – contracting for a local company making my own schedule. Struggling but surviving. Bartending events as a side hustle to make ends meet. Never felt better.
