I have been in essence the team lead for my team since the last team lead left. I am senior on my team. If there is an issue with anyone on the team, I have been the one tasked with fixing all issues. And if our team doesnt hit quota for the quarter, I am the one who gets bitched at, I'm the one who has to find a solution. If anyone takes PTO, I am the one who has to cover for them. I am the one who trains everybody on my team.
I asked my boss during my last performance review if I am indeed the team lead or supervisor. They confirmed that I was. I asked them “hey if I'm the team lead now, shouldnt that come with a raise of some sort? I'm the one with more stress and more responsibility….if the last team lead got paid more than everyone else, shouldnt I be getting a raise if I'm filling his shoes?”
Boss: “well even though you've basically been the team lead the last 2 quarters, we want you to continue what you're doing, and maybe if you keep “pRoVIng Y0uRselF”, one day in the future we can revisit this and talk about a raise”
Me: “well when can we review this again? I'm working more than anyone else on the team and I'm taking responsibility for every mistake they make. Its inflation out here, I'm just trying to stay on top of my bills”
Boss: “I'll let you know”
How would yall interpret this. I'm interpreting this as hell no, we want you to work like a supervisor but we arent gonna pay you like one ever. We are trying to milk you for free labor.
