My Boss has daily small blowups at me in front of my coworker

(woman here) I was in a shitty job working for a telecom and served my current boss. He hired my for his small business because he loved my service skills. He still asks me to visit the telecom store on his behalf for numbers every now and then and I oblige. I was in a shitty job working for a telecom and served my current boss. He hired my for his small business because he loved my service skills. He still asks me to visit the telecom store on his behalf for numbers every now and then and I oblige.

Today my boss called and said he'd drop me to my old shop to save me time on public transport and I let him know I wasn't going there. I joked that him taking me away single handedly ruined the shop as my leaving triggered everyone else to leave and only bad staff to remain as evidenced by the Google reviews.

When he came in my current closest coworker was sitting in the lunch room eating. I tried to talk to my boss in a friendly manner and let him know why I was going to a friend's shop. I asked if he'd had bad telecom service before me and his response was
“Yes but this is only a few Sims. I don't understand why you're using company time for a social call?” In the snappiest voice.

Both my coworker and I were stunned into silence but this wasn't the first time. This boss has a habit of asking polite questions then getting angry with the answer. I made a mistake with a single digit on an email once and he walked into my office and said “we'll talk about this in your performance review,” in front of the same coworker.

It's killing me, I wake up at 5am and travel 90 minutes for this job. I took a pay cut and left my store that I'd worked very hard to improve. I arrive 20 minutes early everyday and answer emails on my days off. I use my own funds to ensure there is a lolly, cookie, and chocolate jar at my desk.

But it's never good enough.

My coworker lost a $1500 laptop recently and there wasn't a word said to him.

I just wanted to vent, thank you.
