Working Interview Question

Hey yall, can I get some advice? I just finished a job interview at a daycare, and it went great. They're pro-trans rights and even allow political shirts and such instead of a uniform, and the shift is an evening shift, which would be amazing because it wouldn't interfere with my college classes and I hate morning shifts. The problem: step 2 of the interview process is 4 hours of volunteer work at the daycare. Basically, unpaid work. I'm not sure if that's normal, and don't know whether to agree to it. The job sounds great, and if I do it, I'm almost guaranteed the position because they're under staffed. But at the same time, if they don't hire me, that's 4 hours down the drain. What do you guys think?
