So, I just got the news today that leadership is asking us to return to work in person, in the office effective 4/1. After a fairly hybrid schedule pre-COVID, and then full work from home schedule for the last 2 years, I'm in shock about what seems to me, a completely unreasonable request.
I like my job, and get paid quite well, but how can I effectively combat this request? I am perfectly capable of working from home, I'm productive, available, and hitting goal. My life has been totally adjusted over the last 2 years to no longer accommodate commute time (1 hr each way) or commuter costs ($350/month).
I have already looked and applied for full time work from home positions. But I cannot afford to make any moves without having something else lined up.
Help! I need some push back talking points here.
