I’m asking this subreddit because everyone who has ever told me to write a custom cover letter for every job application has been a capitalism-loving type of person. I want an answer from someone with actual perspective on how things are right now. I’ve custom wrote a cover letter and custom tailored my resume for every application lately and it has gotten me nothing but ignored and rejected. Am I wasting my time or does that extra work actually increase my chances by a meaningful margin?
