My boss threatens to deduct my pay if I change clothes before telling him that im going to leave.

I asked him why and he said so he can tell me to keep working if he didn't appreciate my work pace. I just said “ok”, turned around and was about to walk out of the store, but then I decided that I wouldn't walk away without confronting him so I turned around and walked up to him. “Isn't it illegal to deduct pay?” I said. “It may be” he said “but if you're not going to follow the rules, neither am I” “But the rules I'll break are within the store, the rules you break are according to law and breaking them is illegal.” I said. “Well, then I'll just deduct 1/4th of an hour of pay instead” he said.

“It may be” he said “but if you're not going to follow the rules, neither am I”

“But the rules I'll break are within the store, the rules you break are according to law and breaking them is illegal.” I said.

“Well, then I'll just deduct 1/4th of an hour of pay instead” he said.

That doesn't make any sense because he'd still be breaking the law, but I didn't go any further and left instead.

He's not the manager and not the main boss, but I don't think reporting it is going to do anything because he hasn't deducted my pay yet, he just threatened to.

I'm furious and I don't know what to do. I know that he hasn't done anything yet but I'm furious that he thinks he's entitled to threaten me like that. That man is on one hell of a power trip.
