This is amazing to me. So I live in the Northeast. We're projected to get as much as much as 5-10 inches of snow tomorrow. Okay, so I call in and tell my work in case of a snowstorm I won't be coming in. My boss sighs, says okay but we will need to talk about my call outs.
Now I only usually call out once every few months but we've had 3 snowstorms within the span of a month. I've called out each time. I'm not risking my life going into work a job that pays barely above minimum wage. Are they short staffed? Sure, but how is that my problem?
When I break my back working here, I think I've earned a little bit more respect than the need to be “talked” to for not wanting to do a half hour drive in a snowstorm.
