Working conditions?

Hi there! I’m looking for an outlet to vent. I work in a small private office. My colleagues are wonderful but management is much to be desired. I’m on the brink of resignation but for financial reasons I can’t resign until by some miracle I come into millions or find a different job. My office is not set up to work from home, and management is borderline hostile and discriminatory to myself as well as other colleagues. There is not an HR department or higher up to go except the providers in the practice. We do not have an employee handbook other than a very outdated one, so nobody really is even aware of policies. We have hours on paper, but nobody ever leaves because we are told to stay until the work is done, and I’ve been lectured for leaving work behind that can easily be done the next…

We have hours on paper, but nobody ever leaves because we are told to stay until the work is done, and I’ve been lectured for leaving work behind that can easily be done the next morning. We can’t leave for doctors appointments and get pto after 1 year. I have a condition which complicates things and have been given by the manager countless occasions (I choose not to disclose) but the most recent was a threat of termination after being sick two weeks with COVID (I was on the verge of hospitalization, however received treatment in the ED and returned home).

Thank you for reading the word vomit, I would love to hear others stories, I plan to discuss this with someone once I can switch jobs (I am actively looking but am not wishing to transfer to somewhere just as bad or worse) as there is no whistleblower policy in place at my current place of employment.
