So i work as a cashier at a grocery store and I get that work is work but at least you can try to make it enjoyable
But i have tried to make work somewhat enjoyable but it's not
All i'm doing is ringing up groceries and then bagging the groceries
I've tried talking to the customers but they just have nothing to say really, other than when i ask how their day is going, all they say is “alright, I worked” Have anything planned “No, just work” or “I'm retired” or “sit around do nothing”
I tried the food talk but it quickly got boring and stupid
It's gotten so bad that i literally asked to do self-checkout
(but hey at least i wont get yelled at for typing in the produce code, or looking it up on the computer, instead of scanning it when there's no freaking barcode or the produce is hard to scan)
Would rather be bored at self-checkout than make awkward conversations and doing everything myself.
