So my dad is 61, I like to call him a late boomer. He works his 40 hrs, and no less than 40 hrs over time every week. His cars, house, everything is payed off. He has a large Chunk of change in the bank, and owned a good amount of land. He doesn’t see what’s so bad with all the over time, and is always complaining about the turnover and new guys they get(gas pipeline industry) and thinks the company needs him. He won’t listen to anything I say.
My MIL… oh this lady. She just got a new job at the USPS. She works on Sunday’s for the post office delivering Amazon….. and everyday she is scheduled off she gets a call at 9am that they need her to cover someone’s shift. There is so much more I would like to add in here, but her driving belief is that if they call her she has to drop everything and go in. Oh…. Bonus they get their schedule the night prior.
I understand hard work, I understand there is a job to get done, I also understand that I don’t live to work for you. Can everyone work their wage. The occasional extra work I understand life happens, but if it’s a normal occurrence there is something else at play…
