First Reddit post ever. I joined a company 3 months ago with the understanding I would have to take over from someone who’s going on Maternity leave in 2 weeks. The contract is permanent and I will remain when that person returns in 6 months. Turns out I hate the job, they’re micromanagers, I find the job boring & I don’t care about the company. It’s just not for me & it’s making me unhappy. I’ve got an opportunity for a job I originally wanted, and I can start there in 2 weeks. The pay is the same but I can work remotely, there’s more holidays and there’s perks. The job I’m in now have organised a whole handover day next week for me and the manager I’m taking over from. But I have to tell them I’m leaving. I don’t know how, and with the launch of their major product looming, I can’t help but feel like I’m screwing them over & leaving them in a crap situation. The company is quite small & there is no other marketing personnel. How do I word my resignation to them?! Help please …
