First of all, let me say this even if the US is a country of immigrants I think the citizens of this country should have the right to opportunities that are available here.
I am a well-educated person working in an engineering position from South Asia and I face a lot of less problems than an average immigrant doing labor-intensive jobs. However, the working conditions I am being subjected to are very harsh. I am working almost 12 hrs a day and my employer does not give a shit about me or even the well-being of my “American Co-Workers”.I don't have a social life (partly might be because of my personality ) but is largely due to the absence of hours in my awakened life.
Obviously, I can go to my country tomorrow if I want to but the blatant disregard of hard work and honesty pisses me off. On the other hand the exploitation in the name of “family business” is soul sucking.I have tried to change company but my boss keeps me promising of promoting to a better position. The only reason I am seeking this promotion is to create a springboard for a better company that actually cares about its employees.
I am not sure how people will perceive me as the trouble I am facing as it's not that arduous but it still is troubling. This paragraph might be considered a rant or a genuine concern but what I am trying to seek is a piece of advice that might make me “happy”, “stable” or both.
