Just had a random memory from a ridiculous job I had for an entire 3 days at an acupuncture clinic about 10 years ago. When someone made a mistake, any mistake, they had to write it in a journal. I thought it was the dumbest thing. The owner also had a video camera watching the receptionist (me) and he told me to smile more often. They fired me after 3 days because I needed to leave early to go do my community service which they already knew I was doing and the reason why. They put me alone the 2nd day I was working there and I had to check in people, schedule them when their session was done, restock the acupuncture room (it was huge and multiple people got their sessions at the same time), answer phones, and get people their herb prescriptions. Nobody was in the waiting room so I used the toilet and got chewed out because someone finished their session and walked out and I couldn't schedule them for next time since I was not standing there. What a stupid place. They're still in business now but it's just the wife doing the reception work. They went through new people constantly, I was told when I worked there.
Has anyone ever worked at a place like this? The biggest thing is the “burn book” I think of it as. Dumbest shit ever.
