I need to vent to people that get it.
No, nobody directly said the post title to me. I’ve contracted with a company that owes me $4,200 for the month of February. I’m not going to see my first day of February’s pay check until the second week of March. (Sucky contract I know) Coming off the pandemic I had to take whatever work I can get.
I’m hired as a contractor not on staff and am not there full time, so I don’t get any benefits. Accidentally broke a tooth due to stress grinding and just had to pay for dental work. So now I have to decide which bills go unpaid. Good thing I do intermittent fasting as now I have extra motivation to only eat once a day.
As a millennial with a decent job, I’m still just fucked. I’m sick of getting fucked over by super rich companies. I’m sick of worrying myself to the point of health problems that I can’t afford. It’s depressing as hell to work for a decent wage and still be too poor to afford the $5.25 per gallon in gas to get to even get work.
I feel like we’re going to see more homeless people that still work full time jobs.
Things MUST change. This can not go on.
Edit : I feel the need to add that the parent company for this particular work place NETs 11Billion a year and has 300Billion in company assets.
