I worked at a pizza place/craft beer bar but after some incidents with the managers, I decided to quit. To set the scene, a server on the floor called off and the bar manager asked me if I could work on the floor and answer the phones for takeout. She said that if I needed any help, she would come from the bar and help me answer the phones. It was a decently busy weekday. This caused me to fall behind. I was running back and forth. It was very overwhelming. Not once the entire night did I see the bar manager answer the phone, she did not help me at all. I only ended up making fifty-eight dollars from takeout and before my eyes my manager split the fifty-eight and took half for herself. She didn't say a word to me, just pocketed half my tips. I know it was only twenty-nine dollars but she literally stole it from me. It's a respect thing, that's wage theft. I was furious. A week later was SuperBowl Sunday and when I got to work, my coworker asked me what I had picked from Chipotle. I was confused and they explained to me that the manager had texted everyone who was working Sunday saying that the owner of the company was buying everyone Chipotle. I received no such text. I'm not gonna lie, I was hurt. It felt so shitty to leave me out. I texted the manager and quit. I also sent a lengthy email to the owner explaining my experience. The owner never bothered responding. To finish this off, my friend works there and sent me a picture. At one point, I was the employee of the month and this is what they did to my picture. Very mature.
