Good morning everyone. So I currently work for a small company that develops batteries and capacitors. I started as a machine operator for the company and worked my way up to be a assembly cell technician. As a assembly cell technician, I work with toxic chemicals and materials such as lithium. I received little training on disposing lithium and was given no information about the dangers of lithium besides “its dangerous, you can die from it”. I even had an incident where it burned my sinuses around october of 2021. I just recently was exposed to a chemical and wasnt equipped with the correct eye protection ( was wearing saftery glasses, company doesnt have goggles for us) and now my eyes have been feeling dry and abrasive for about 4 days now( I tried to seek legal help but no one is willing to listen to me unless I have medical records). On top of all this, My employer pays new hires more than what I get paid at the moment. I put in so much effort into being the most efficient in the company but I can already see how the company doesnt prioritize my health and is not willing to pay me for my work performance. Today I am planning to ask for my boss for a raise and maybe put in my two weeks if she does not give me the raise. My question is, should I continue with my plan or look for an attorney?
