Hi everyone. Where I work at is a somewhat well-known retail store which is short-staffed, and since I'm still working there I'll be vague on some details.
Since they are short-staffed, I have been working by myself as a cashier in a kiosk for 7 hours straight, with the last hour working with a coworker. I have only been able take breaks maybe at 5 minutes at a time, twice a day if I'm lucky. I go to the bathroom to scarf down my food during my “breaks.” I leave a note at the kiosk that says I'll be back in 5 minutes. I don't like leaving the kiosk alone for too long as the customers start to complain. If I get too many complaints the company starts to threaten me with punishment.
Anyways, I'm close to calling it quits. It is hell working this job with Graves disease. The union I'm in sucks and I doubt they would do much about the situation. So what can I do to go scorched earth on this situation? I know there are some labor laws in Arizona regarding this, I don't know what exactly I should do though.
