What defines a person?

It feels like everyone i know identifies themselves with what job they are working and I am the only one that sees more in people. When I meet new people or see people i havent seen in a while the first question is always “where do you work” or “what do you study”. The only thing they seem to be interested in is what job i have like its the only thing i am. It definetely seems to be the only thing they are. Everyone only talks about work and ask why I dont have a job yet or tell me I am lazy only because I want to do others thing with my live than having to obey some boss. I would like to be seen as the guy who makes music, cooks for everyone, grows their own food and enjoys nature and all the little pleasures life has…

I would like to be seen as the guy who makes music, cooks for everyone, grows their own food and enjoys nature and all the little pleasures life has to offer and not as the guy who still doesnt work full time. They talk about me like I am just wasting my life away but I think its the exact opposite.

I kind of gave in to peer pressure and got my first part time job recently. I know I have to earn money in order to sustain myself independently but I just hate the attitude that everyone who doesnt work a traditional job is somehow worthless.

I just had to get this off my chest. Thanks for reading and sorry for bad english.
