Should I take another sick day?

I have been employed by my employer for many years. I hardly ever call in sick but the last two days I've been really under the weather so I've stayed home sick. I took a Covid test yesterday just to be sure (same symptims) and it was negative. This morning I woke up feeling a little better, not nearly as congested and my cough isn't as bad. I'm not 100%, not even really 90%. I could probably go into work and be okay but there's a chance I could feel worse and have to go home. I haven't eaten much of anything except a bowl of soup and some snack foods, I've had zero appetite and I'm feeling weak but still feel like I'm getting better. I grew up in a culture where you work even if your sick and if you do call in you go back to work…

I grew up in a culture where you work even if your sick and if you do call in you go back to work as soon as the bleeding stops. Needless to say I don't really have a “healthy” or “normal” concept of when it's appropriate to take a sick day.

I'm torn on if I should push myself and go into work today or should I take one more day off.

A few more notes:

  1. Im covered legally, they can't fire me yet if I call in again today
  2. I have plenty of PTO so it won't hurt me financially.
  3. My employer, and specifically my boss, is a good employer in my opinion. They have always seemed to care for their employees and many of us have been there for decades. It's only the effed up work culture in my country that makes me unsure of what to do.
