People should understand that teaching can be “trauma level” pressure.

So I was teaching. Inner city school. Kids are generally great, but the issues I had to deal with were incredible. 8 or nine kids parents in each class were addicts. Several living in foster care. It's 11pm and an hour later before I get a “yes”. I've worked in easy schools too, but before you say teachers, “only work 5 hours a day” or “they only work 10 months of the year.” Or whatever, think about what it might be like to feel the rational stress of working with kids you care about and not being able to help them all.
