Asked my manager what the workers incentives from corporate were. Her reply- “I don't know.”
The real answer is they don't offer any.
I work as a lash Tech at AmazingLash, obvs we do the main work of the business. We are the only licensed professionals that work for the company. (No one in management has license)
We buy our own supplies(tweezers, fans, space heaters, hygrometer, ect), & uniforms which are required. The company charges us for uniforms & tweezers.
We are expected to work holidays & there are no bonuses for that, or for anything.
The wages top out at $10 an hour and and 5-10% commission commission on services, 5% on any sales.
It is supposed to be an upscale spa like environment. Treating the talent like dirt really screams upscale. None of us are happy.
How the company steals time & money from me/us-
We are told to submit pictures of our work for social media blasts and none ever get posted.
The time limits designed by corporate math squeezes as much work as possible out of us & are half hour faster than industry standards. Our health is not considered
The time limits causes migraines, eye strain, anxiety disorders, ect.
We aren't given enough time in between clients to properly sterilize our implements & so are forced to spend our money on multiple pairs of tweezers.
We do not have 10 minutes scheduled in between clients for bathroom breaks or cleaning, we get uti's.
We get 1/2 an hour break for 12 hours of work. That is because the government demands it.
I got written up once for complaining about safety issues.
I wish I could open my own salon. All I would have to do is offer slightly better circumstances and I could take every single worker in that place with me.
