The company that I work for made record profits last year. I won’t name them, but lets just say that by their nature, Covid is great for business. At the end of the year they put out numerous emails about record profits and individual sections hitting all time high milestones. Most of us are on a bonus plan bases off of our base pay. Of course those of us out doing the work not only get paid less, but the bonus % of our pay is also significantly less. Basically the guys out working long days, with nights and weekends on-call are getting 1/4 of the bonuses that the 9-5ers are getting. Don’t get me wrong, the raise I’m getting this year is really good. Thank, like the amount to buy a used JetSki. But these other fucks can buy a new mid-size SUV. And the regional managers can buy a new Corvette. So we were given our pay raise amounts and everyone I’ve talked to is getting less than 3%. When my boss told me this he could tell I was pissed off and he actually justified it with “well they are giving out big bonuses this year”. This company has made billions of dollars and profit this year alone and they give the hardest working group peanuts.
