Antiwork

People use to work 12 hour days 7 days a week (84 hours) but at least one parent was able to stay home to take care of the house and kids. Now both parents combine for 80 hours a week.

Just thinking about how we haven't progressed as much as we like to think. Prior to the labor movement, a man might work a grueling 12 hours a day every day, but at least he didn't have to worry about anything else. His wife would pick up all the slack. Today, my wife and I both work 40 hours a week and spend all our free time on the chores and the house and taking care of the kids. As a household, we are working almost the same as we were before the labor movement. We should make enough money that one parent should be able to support the entire family.
