Younger candidates care about diversity and equality.

I’m a non-white 30 year old working in an industry that is conservative and mostly white. I made a comment to my new boss (white) that I believe all companies don’t really care about diversity and they’re just doing it for a tax write off and lip service. (Talking out of my ass). He explained that while that may be true for some companies, he’s seeing most candidates in their early 20s are asking about this and what the company is doing. Also they’re seeing candidates turning down hybrid schedules, and desire full remote flexibility. The company has been making changes to the written policy to allow for this. The point is that I’m happy to see that young graduates are not afraid to grill the interviewers on these things. When I graduated I had a mindset of desperation.
