Thinking about a former manager who tried to humiliate me in front of coworker(s)….. he’s been dead for 3 yrs now

For several months, I used to work graveyard shift at HD restocking goods…Got to know the 'seasoned employees' and different managers and we naturally developed rapport. Seasoned employee 'Ralph' has been working for HD for 3 years. Ralphs shift is from 10pm-2am and Ralph is familiar with the overnight crew and various managers. He has a carefree, selfish and oblivious habit of breaking down a palette, opening the package(s), restocking the goods and simply discarding all his trash up and down the isle, intentionally leaving it for the crew that works 10am-6am to clean it up instead of doing it himself–he did this every shift. After several months of making min wage, I was fed up having to clean up after Ralph. I tried to think of a neutral and non-confrontational way of discussing this situation with Ralph but I felt my tenure of several months made it impossible to…

I tried to think of a neutral and non-confrontational way of discussing this situation with Ralph but I felt my tenure of several months made it impossible to bring it up.. I figured somebody like a manager could handle this matter like a professional and could essentially keep the peace for the work environment.

I let overnight manager 'Nathan' know of my grievance and told Nathan to solve this matter with Ralph as it is Nathan's duty to manage the staff and manage their responsibilities. Nathan had a funny look on his face when he was listening to me… After hearing my piece, Nathan agreed to talk to Ralph.

I was happy this BS would be resolved and I felt I did a solid favor for my coworkers as they no longer had to pick up after Ralph.

After returning from my day off, Nathan called in a meeting with the overnight crew at the beginning of the shift. Nathan asked how we were doing and went over the responsibilities of each individual and that we needed to step our game up as the regional manager would be paying a visit in the morning–blah blah blah..

As he's wrapping up, thats when this Nathan mfer looks at Ralph –who is standing opposite of me in a circle — and begins to air my grievance in front of the entire overnight crew (10 heads). I thought, 'shit, this is odd and unprofessional, why would he not speak to him privately.'

Nathan finishes speaking, pauses, looks directly at me and brazenly says, “I hope that's ok with you “__myname_!”

I was shocked and livid that a person of Nathan's position would be acting like this in the work environment. It was awkward to say the least but I said 'cool' and resumed work..

2am came along and I told Nathan I'm going to lunch. Nathan had a deadline to meet with the regional manager and asked “you'll be back back, right?” I looked at him with a disingenuous expression and simply replied, “yes.” I never returned, I didn't even receive a call to find my whereabouts hours later..

Nathan the manager done fucked up.

I was pissed that HD could hire such an incompetent manager. I called up the general manager couple days later and let him know what's good– he didn't have much to say.

Months went by and I still pondered and stewed about the situation.. I was trying to figure a way to sue tf out of HD but I acted too late…

A year or two went by and good ol Nathan popped up in my mind, I decided to do a search and see what he's up to.. I found out Nathan was transferred to another location…

And then I came across an article that said Nathan (36), died in a motorcycle accident AND lo and behold, his open-casket funeral service is on YouTube for the entire world to see……

I don't care how much money you make or what your job title is… It doesn't give you the right to act like a POS human in a work environment or in this world…
