I once worked for an American company. Never again.

(I keep this very short) Got hired as a “full-stack-developer” for their subsidiary in an European country. (They bought a competitor) Everything was going fine (I thought). I had to learn Angular, AWS, React and Redux on the go, no biggie, this is just part of being a web developer. Even though I was hired based on my back end experience. BUT, my last 7 days on my job where like this

Tuesday: Helping me understanding how Angular and Redux are working together, pretty cool stuff

Friday at noon: My access revoked. He said it was “some restructuring”.

Monday morning: Got a meeting invite for Tuesday “jonr's future at company inc”

Tuesday morning: “We are not happy with your progress at the company” speech.

Me: hearing this for the first time after almost a year: surprisedpichacuface.jpg

Never, ever, as Turing is my witness, did I get any negative feedback on my work. Actually I never got any feedback at all, so I assumed that everything was ok.

My local boss was just as surprised.

Today, I'm still salty about this.

tl:dr; Company fires me out of the blue after almost a whole year without any hints.
