I will be switching from being an independent contractor to fully self-employed in 2024. Right now, I don't have the greatest balance between my professional and personal selves, and I doubt that will change when I'm working for myself. But it's getting me thinking…what is work-life balance, what conditions are required for it, and how do you know when you've attained that sense of balance?
In other words, this balance is at the core of this movement, but I don't think we're always clear about the specifics of what that means. Obviously the logistics of that balance will look different from household to household, but even a vague idea of what we're looking for is helpful.
